How our Reseller Program Works

As a reseller, you essentially run your own hosting service, advertising and selling our hosting packages as if they are your own. With the addition of our GigaBlocks option you can even set up custom hosting packages of your own choosing.

The fundamental steps involved in being a Reseller include:

  • You sign up as a KangaWeb Reseller
  • You advertise our hosting packages on your site, as your own hosting packages.
  • Your client places an order with you for an account. At this point you can either:
    • Purchase one of our hosting plans from us for your client at our discounted Reseller Prices, or
    • If you have purchased one or more GigaBlocks then you can set up a fully customized package. This plan will then come out of your GigaBlock quota.
  • We will set up the account promptly and send you the account details. You then pass these details on to your client.
  • If purchasing one of our regular hosting plans we will charge you for the discounted packages that you purchase from us. There are no per account/domain charges for setting up an account within a GigaBlock however.
  • You charge your clients a price that you believe the market will bear i.e. you set your own prices for your customers. We recommend a similar pricing structure to ours.
  • You provide technical support to your clients - of course if you are unsure of something we are happy to correspond with you on the matter.

I am thinking of joining the Reseller Gold program. Will I have to share my 300 MB of web space with my clients?

Whenever you order a resold hosting account, such as a Small Business Starter account, then the new hosting account will be completely independent from your own Reseller Gold web space. The new account will have its own disk space allowance and will not consume any of your 300 MB.

How much Internet and/or Unix experience do I need to be a Reseller?

To provide a quality service to your clients, you will need to be familiar with the tasks involved in publishing and operating a website. If you are familiar with FTP and HTML and perhaps other Internet technologies (such as SSL, POP, Telnet, Unix/Linux etc) then you should not have any trouble. We will also be happy to provide technical support while you learn the ropes.

Do I receive a hosting account and a web site as part of my Reseller plan?

If you join the Reseller Gold program you will receive a 300 MB, feature-packed master account to house your own site. As a Flexible Reseller, you would need to order one of our regular hosting accounts if you wish to set up a web site advertising your services. If you don't already have your own web site, you can use our Ready-Set-Go! Hosting Templates and Order Express system to quickly build your web hosting sales site.

If purchasing a GigaBlock then you can set up as many websites as you wish within that GigaBlock, including any websites for your own use. There are no per domain or account charges for setting up hosting plans within a GigaBlock.

How do I order a hosting account for my client?

After someone orders a hosting package from you, you simply visit my.kangaweb.com and place an order on behalf of your client. We then setup the hosting account quickly and email you the details. You can then pass on those details to your client. KangaWeb remains anonymous in the process. We also offer an easy to install, customizable ordering system (Order Express) that you can set up on your site to receive orders from your clients - it even comes with an easy-to-use interface for viewing your orders and submitting them to us for processing!

How is billing handled?

We will bill you directly for all monies due for your own account(s) and any resold accounts. You will then be responsible for getting payments from your own customers. You are free to charge your customers any price which you think the market will bear.

Payments due for additional accounts will be calculated on a monthly, pro-rata basis and billed on your billing date. This means you only have to worry about paying us once a month. We will always email you with an invoice approximately one week before your billing date so that you are aware of the amount due and can make your payment. Payments must be made through our secure online payment system. We accept VISA, MasterCard, EuroCard and VISA Delta. We do not accept checks.
